Otoplasty (Surgery to
correct protruding ears) A positive self image is critical to healthy personal and psychological growth. Large, outstanding, uneven or misshapen ears can present a personal challenge to people of any age, especially during formative childhood years. Otoplasty is a surgical procedure that corrects protruding ears and other ear deformities with relative ease and little discomfort. Otoplasty can be performed at any age with excellent results. The surgery involves removal and/or reconstruction of cartilage and skin of the ear through an incision placed at the back of the ear. Recovery time is brief, usually less than ten days, and the psychological benefit can be dramatic both in children and adults. | ||
