Forehead/Browlift Surgery
(Endoscopic) Due to the frequent contraction of the muscles of facial expression, your forehead gets a lot of use each day. Whether you are laughing, crying, worrying or sleeping, the muscles of your forehead are busy stretching and contracting. All of this activity has the unfortunate effect of causing deep vertical frown lines above the eyes, drooping eyebrows, laxity of the skin of the lateral eye, and/or horizontal wrinkles on the forehead. Endoscopic forehead/browlift surgery is a minimal incision procedure that allows the surgeon to enter the forehead and brow area through 4-6 small (1/2 inch) incisions that leave no visible scars. The forehead muscles and skin are repositioned and anchored to the bone, thereby giving a long-lasting, effective result. A feature of endoscopic forehead/browlift surgery that is dramatically different from traditional browlift techniques is the absence of scalp numbness, scarring and/or hair loss. Patients experience few, if any, adverse secondary effects following surgery and are able to resume normal daily activities within one week and exercise within two weeks following surgery. Dr. Alford strives for a natural look in all of his surgical procedures. Particularly, in the forehead/ browlift procedure, the tissues of the upper face must be lifted in such a way that correction is achieved without giving the patient a "surprised," "startled" arched-eyebrow look. The minimal incision endoscopic technique allows just such a result to be reliably obtained in all patients. The outstanding results obtained from forehead/browlift surgery enhance the overall appearance of the face and give the patient an open, rested, bright, alert and more youthful countenance. | ||
